Certificate III in Individual Support

Course Overview: This course is recognized as one of the top entry level qualifications for applicants, who wants to develop the understanding of infection prevention and control practices.  The enriched knowledge and tools used in this course ensures that the applicants are well equipped to support the elderlies in home, aged care facilities, and community care.

  • Duration: 36 Weeks
  • Funding: This quali­fication is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding to eligible candidates.
  • Course fee: Tuition fees- $6,700.00 ($0 for eligible Skills First Funding applicants)
  • Prerequisite: There is no formal prerequisite for this course.
  • Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, you will need to go through a pre-training review process to determine if you are suitable for this course.
  • Industry Requirement

    Candidates are required to provide evidence of the following for work placement:

    • National Police Check
    • Current First Aid Certificate
    • Statutory Declaration

  • Work Placement Support:

    A minimum of 120 hours Work Placement must be undertaken

      Course Details: Each candidate must demonstrate their competency in the following-

      • 13 units of competency
      • 7 core units
      • 6 elective units.

    • Elective Units:

    CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people

    CHCAGE005 Provide support to people living with dementia

    CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs

    CHCCCS025 Support relationships with careers and families

    CHCHCS001 Provide home and community support services

    HLTINF001 – Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
